Research Summary: 
Light signaling and nuclear organization in plants
Research Description: 

The ultimate goal of the Chen lab is to uncover molecular mechanisms by which plants alter their growth and developmental programs in response to environmental cues. In particular, we study how plants visualize and change their morphology in response to red and far-red color of light. Using molecular genetic approaches, we characterize mutant plants that are blind to light and identify signaling mechanisms linking the photoactivation of photoreceptors and downstream morphological responses.
